BAYAN KNIGHTS 3 by
Sir Gilbert keeps redefining the word, EPIC. If you like battle scenes, and panels that go "Boom!" This is it. The war has definitely began, each page is action packed, more and more characters are being introduced and I can imagine further match ups between the knights and members of Bangis. The page which features Devanta and Takipsilim fighting is awesome and is different from most of what I've already seen so far. It also features a 2 page Unstoppable story by

Reading the first few panels made me think I was the main character of the story. LOL. I'm a huge fan of Boss Gerry's inks and coloring. I think they're terrific and this was no exception. Every page looks really good. But after reading the next 2/3 pages I kind of knew how the story was gonna end and that took the fun out of reading it. Yes, I suck that way.
JUDAS KISS by David Hontiveros,
Probably my least favorite of the stories in the anthology. I think the pages were nicely drawn but (and I mean no offense in saying this) it didn't jive with how good the other stories were drawn. It just didn't stand out for me although I did like how the "thing" with the sheet was drawn. The story was something all too familiar but they put in a twist that was different, perhaps too different. You know how when you watch scary movies and you start formulating all these conclusions of how the ending is going to be? Well, this was one of those endings that you've thought of in the back of your head (as in nasa likod talaga) and wished it wouldn't be the one they'd use. This story however managed to send little tingles down my spine that the other 3 stories in the book didn't get to do.
KATUMBAS by David Hontiveros and
The stand out! Definitely the best one in the book. It's features Kadasig, a Bayan Knight and fellow Gilas member in his first starring role. I'm not even going to go into further details. I'm just going to say this, if there ever was just one reason to grab this book it would be Katumbas. Topnotch storytelling and wicked sick art.'NUF SAID!
THE CLINIC by
Made by probably the best duo in Philippine comics today. It's awesome seeing how versatile Kajo is with his art and how Sir Budj consistently makes any story Trese-related kick ass. That's a spoiler right there. If I had three thumbs they'd all be up right now.
SKYWORLD TESTAMENT by Mervin Ignacio and
Reading the first issue of Skyworld made me an instant fan. The world that these two have created definitely sucks you in and makes you teary-eyed with awe and pinoy pride. Everything good about the first issue, detailed art, fantastic story, amazing characters, IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE SECOND ISSUE! If you think the first one was good, the second issue will blow you away. Merv and Ian have managed to take in familiar characters from history and legend and wrap em all together into the strange and eerie realm that is Skyworld. I expected it to be good, I just didn't expect it to be THAT good. The book also features one of my fave characters Trese and the Kambal which definitely adds to the awesome. Hear me sing songs of praises! GRAB A COPY! NOW!
